ABOUT COLIN.

Colin Miller is a rising lyric tenor currently pursuing his Master of Music degree at the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University, where he studies under the mentorship of Professor Nova Thomas. He earned his Bachelor of Music from the New England Conservatory of Music, studying with Professor Bradley Williams.

In his first year at Rice, Colin made his operatic debut at the Shepherd School as León in Corigliano’s The Ghosts of Versailles, conducted by Ben Manis and directed by Grammy-winning soprano Patricia Racette. He was honored with an Encouragement Award in the Houston District of the Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition, and also appeared as Froh in a scene from Wagner’s Das Rheingold during a public masterclass directed by Tonya and Ryan McKinny.

This summer, Colin will continue his development as a Young Artist at the American Institute of Music and Singing (AIMS) in Graz, Austria. He returns to the Shepherd School this fall to make his role debut as Tamino in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, under the baton of Louis Lohraseb and direction of R. B. Schlather.

Outside of his singing career, Colin enjoys photography, music production and audio engineering, and Musical Theatre.
